Purpose

This policy addresses the actions that must be taken by all Plantex e-commerce private limited & its subsidiary employees who have a company-issued laptop.

Procedures for Laptop Physical Security

Each employee provided with a laptop by Plantex e-commerce private limited is responsible for the physical security of the laptop. All laptops acquired for or on behalf of Plantex e-commerce private limited are deemed to be company property.

All employees must take the following actions to ensure the physical security of company's laptops:

  • When not in use, the laptop must be locked with a password and caution taken when entering any company passwords on the laptop.
  • Do not leave your laptop in your vehicle. If it is necessary to leave the laptop in your vehicle for a very short period of time, the laptop must be locked in the trunk of the vehicle.
  • When using the laptop in public areas, do not leave the laptop unattended for any length of time.

Policy Exceptions and Non-Adherences

Violation of this policy may be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

In the event laptop given to the employee is damaged due to any reason, 25% of the laptop cost will be borne by the employee.

In the event laptop given to the employee is stolen due to negligence, an FIR must be lodged with the concerned Police Station and a copy provided to the company. Up to 100% of the cost of the laptop may be recovered by the employee after due investigation by the Corporate Asset team.

Company Laptop Security Policy Purpose

This policy outlines the responsibilities of all employees of Plantex e-commerce private limited and its subsidiaries who are provided with company-issued laptops. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining the physical security of these company assets.

Procedures for Laptop Physical Security

Every employee issued a laptop by Plantex e-commerce private limited is entrusted with the physical security of the laptop, considering it as company property. To ensure the physical security of company laptops, employees must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Password Protection: When not in use, laptops must be locked with a password. Exercise caution when entering any company passwords on the laptop.
  • Vehicle Security: Laptops should never be left unattended in vehicles. If it becomes necessary to temporarily store the laptop in a vehicle, it must be locked securely in the trunk.
  • Public Areas: While using the laptop in public areas, it should never be left unattended, regardless of the duration.

Policy Deviations and Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary actions, ranging from warnings to termination of employment.

In the event that a laptop assigned to an employee is damaged for any reason, the employee will be responsible for bearing 25% of the laptop's replacement cost.

In cases where a laptop assigned to an employee is stolen due to negligence, the following steps must be taken:

  • An FIR (First Information Report) must be promptly filed with the relevant Police Station.
  • A copy of the FIR should be provided to the company.
  • Following a thorough investigation by the Corporate Asset team, the employee may be liable to cover up to 100% of the cost of the stolen laptop.
